National Leader in the Industry, The Marek Group, Led by Tami Marek-Loper and Fuzzy Marek Continue Growth by Acquiring Women-Owned Business in Louisville, Kentucky. Tami Marek-Loper to Lead the New Business, HighNote, as President.
Waukesha, WI — The Marek Group is once again expanding their business through strategic acquisition to broaden and fortify their portfolio of marketing execution services. Company leaders, Fuzzy Marek, Chief Executive Officer and Tami Marek-Loper, President & Chief Visionary Officer announced today that The Marek Group has come to a purchase agreement with HighNote, a marketing services company headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky. Marek-Loper will lead the new company—which will retain the HighNote brand and WBENC certification—as majority owner and President.
Through this acquisition, The Marek Group aims to establish a strong regional presence in a new, centrally located market and offer HighNote clients a much larger range of marketing services, including their proprietary software as a service (SaaS) platform, Triptych; data management, analytics, and development; commercial print and direct mail production; promotional products and apparel; incentives and rewards; kitting and sampling; and automated fulfillment services.
“This acquisition was absolutely the perfect fit for The Marek Group,” explained Marek-Loper. “We have worked closely with the co-owners and founders of HighNote, Denise Spalding and Jennifer Eberle, over the past year to get to know each other’s businesses, teams, and culture and could not have found an organization that we’re more aligned with.”
Along with the strong cultural alignment between the two businesses, HighNote’s co-owner, Spalding noted, “We just really felt that this was the right decision at the right time for our company and our clients. We see the trust between The Marek Group, their team members, and their clients, which is exactly like the strong relationships that we have with our team and our clients.”
HighNote will continue its strong 31-year legacy of being a women-owned business with Marek-Loper as majority owner. “Maintaining the WBENC certification was huge for us,” shared Eberle. “It’s rare to find women—especially in the printing industry—that use their voice like we do, but Tami does. She’s smart, she’s confident, and she is a leader in this industry.”
Marek-Loper—a 40 Under 40 recipient and 2023 Wisconsin Titan 100 Award winner—also acknowledged, “As a leader in the Milwaukee business community, I see this as a great opportunity to bring more business back to the Milwaukee area and connect other female leaders in Wisconsin with prospects that are looking to support minority and woman-owned businesses.”
In the future, The Marek Group plans to expand the footprint of HighNote in Louisville and in the region with a fully automated fulfillment center to distribute sales materials, promotional products, apparel, and incentive products ordered by clients using Marek's proprietary Through-Channel Marketing Automation software, Triptych.
Both The Marek Group and HighNote are committed to ensuring a smooth transition for employees and clients alike. HighNote will continue to operate independently—remaining in its current location in Louisville, Kentucky and retaining all of its current employees and its WBENC status. As the companies are continuing to grow, The Marek Group and HighNote are actively recruiting new employees to join their teams in sales, data, production, and more.
