The partnership leverages the many flexo and converting capabilities of the new Imageworx Innovation Center, located just outside of Philadelphia.

Levittown, PA – Cyngient, a specialist supplier of inks coatings and adhesives, and Imageworx, a premier trade shop for prepress services, have announced a strategic alliance which aims to provide label and packaging printing converters a comprehensive resource covering several elements of the workflow and supply chain.

The partnership leverages the recently-renovated 31,500 square foot Imageworx facility in Levittown, PA, just outside of Philadelphia, which doubles as the site of the new Imageworx Innovation Center. Together with Cyngient, headquartered in nearby New Jersey, the two companies can provide converters with products and services from all critical print process components.

Andrew Wasserman, Cyngient’s managing partner, explains, “Being the primary supplier of inks, coatings, and adhesives to the new Innovation Center, coupled with Imageworx state-of-the-art prepress, label converters have the ability to achieve real life demos that can be easily transferred to their production environment without losing valuable production time.”

The Innovation Center features a Lombardi Synchroline 430 UV flexo press, a Lombardi Digistar 430 finishing press, a Lehner Flexomatrix mounter, a Kor Engineering LW1-430 and SR2-430 inspection slitters, a Domino K600i LED inkjet industrial printer, an Alphasonics ultrasonic anilox and parts cleaner, Kocker & Beck Gapmaster, BST Tubescan, an EasyCut 1500 core cutter and a doctor blade cutter from Berkley Machinery. In addition, several more suppliers are slated to have their products and services featured at the facility.

The intent behind the Imageworx Innovation Center is to showcase to converters the highest level of flexographic innovation. To achieve this, the Lombardi presses are outfitted with multiple cold foil units, flat-bed hot stamping, flat-bed screen, variable data printing through the Domino K600i, multiple diecut stations, delam-relam and multiple turn bars, suitable to support nearly any type of flexographic print application. And when it comes to the inks, coatings and adhesive components, this is where Cyngient provides its expertise and versatility.

“Product development regularly requires input and support from a wide number of vendors and industry experts in order to truly become successful,” adds Jeff Toepfer, president of Imageworx. “We have spent the past several years qualifying many industry partners with the goal of creating the ultimate technology center to offer truly innovative prototypes to the industry, and a blueprint for flexographic innovation. Our partnership with Cyngient over the years has been a vital resource to our continued success, and we’re excited to keep that momentum going while advancing flexo innovation.”

Cyngient began working with Imageworx in 2018 on a project requiring lamination of a micro-optical lens on various flexo-printed PS materials, using a UV adhesive while curing through the lens with diecutting in-line. Since then, Cyngient has been an essential partner in Imageworx product development, and have teamed up to provide customers with new product innovations year after year.

Wasserman adds, “One of the principles driving Cyngient is our commitment to true collaboration in developing custom solutions for the flexo industry. Imageworx shares our customer-centric values, and having the Innovation Center and prepress experts on-site, together, offers tremendous value for innovation-driven flexo converters looking to differentiate in order to best serve their brand owner customers.”
