So, I'm a "tad" confused. Are all of your articles accessible by either 1. A subscription to the premium content, or 2. "Free" Press Releases by vendors?
A week or two ago you even had a Press-Release about the new HP Latex printers which were classified as "Premium Content". Are you serious?
Obviously that particular press release was available all over the internet without a subscription.
Thanks for the comment. No need to be confused! We do not charge premium access for press releases; they are all freely accessible in our Newsfeed. Anything tagged as Premium Content is just that, researched/reported and written for WhatThetThink and is not a press release. That said, on occasion we will comment on a new product announcement, be it in packaging, wide format, inkjet--or the Latex announcement--putting the new product in the context of a vendor's overall portfolio or the market in general and going beyond the release. And while some content is taken from a release (like specifications and features; vendors get annoyed when we make those up) overall it is original "commentary and analysis," and a Premium article will almost always correspond to a free version of the official release (if we have been sent one). In other cases, such as this feature, it is intended to be a 101-level market/product roundup for readers who may be unfamiliar with this class of equipment.
