Press release from the issuing company
PITTSBURGH - eProductivity Software (ePS), a global leader in transformational technology, purpose-built to empower the packaging and corrugated industries, is excited to announce its participation in the FEFCO Technical Seminar 2023, taking place from 25th to 27th October in Lyon, France, under the theme “Shaping our future through innovation". At the event, ePS will exhibit its innovative technology solutions for corrugated manufacturers and present a spotlight session on Innovations in Corrugator Energy Saving, Machine Reliability, and Production Efficiency.
During the Innovations in Corrugator Energy Saving spotlight session, ePS will demonstrate how its Escada corrugator control technology solutions help corrugated manufacturers effectively reduce energy consumption and costs during production, improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), automate corrugator production processes, and provide tools to adapt and improve these processes to increase production efficiency.
One of the challenges that the industry faces is ageing equipment. Advances in corrugator control technology have mitigated the need for costly investments to replace machines. Smurfit Kappa, one of ePS’ largest customers, leverages Escada’s innovative technology to drive value in its network, including extending corrugator life while reducing costs and waste in the process:
“Having faced the option of investing in a new machine or optimizing our existing equipment, we preferred to go down the latter route. We have been suitably impressed with the results of Escada’s Syncro 7 and Profile - our machine speeds have increased, board consistency has improved, and we’ve calculated that it’s resulted in significant annual savings, mainly in waste reduction.”
“The system has reduced the risk of our previous reliance on operator knowledge. We can effectively look to recruit new hires without specific skills and quickly get them up to speed running the corrugator knowing that the Escada system will look after the corrugator and process control each shift with no change in quality.” Comments Eric Claes, Director of Operations at Smurfit Kappa, Lauenburg, Germany
In addition to the spotlight session, at stand 119-121, ePS will present innovative technologies that enable lean manufacturing practices in the corrugated industry including its comprehensive Corrugated Suite range of end-to-end ERP and MES solutions.
ePS’ Corrugated Suite solutions are designed to address the unique challenges and requirements of the corrugated industry, offering end-to-end technologies that drive efficiency, streamline processes, and maximise profitability. CorrTrac's end-to-end automated paper control solution will be featured within the MES portfolio, demonstrating the power of utilising integrated Industry 4.0 technologies. Manufacturers can achieve a closed-loop manufacturing and process control solution by optimizing paper control seamlessly across multiple plants and integrating with the supply chain. From production to conversion scheduling, automatic paper consumption and tracking, recipe management, and data analysis, ePS solutions offer automated, integrated, standardised processes.
