Press release from the issuing company
Hebron, Ky. – Fluid Color announces the introduction of ThermaFlex R129, a new ink manufactured exclusively for Fluid Color’s flatbed series which includes the TF53F, TF84F and TF105F printers. ThermaFlex R129 joins Fluid Color’s Kaleidoscope family of UV curable inks - custom formulas designed for the company’s hybrid, roll-to-roll and flatbed versions of its wide format UV inkjet printers.
Previously, printers often experienced breakage within the printed image, while utilizing standard UV curable ink, when the substrate expanded into its final shape in the thermoforming process. With ThermaFlex R129, the ink actually stretches in conjunction with the substrate after being heated, allowing the image to remain intact. This feature will help smaller printers reach a new level of performance as they attempt to compete with larger printers who often have more expensive and sophisticated equipment. “With the ThermaFlex R129, printers will benefit from a “world-class” imager paired with a new ink technology that will bring their cost of production way down from what they may be doing currently on a digital platform,” said Mark Crawford, managing partner for Fluid Color. “It will allow printers to produce a high-quality product at a superior price point.”
The new patented formula is currently available with the purchase of a digital wide format printer from Fluid Color.
