Fluid Color Partners with Alder Color Solutions to Expand Sales on West Coast; Alliance Combines Color Management Solutions and Wide Format Equipment

Press release from the issuing company

Hebron, Ky. – Fluid Color announces its partnership with Alder Color Solutions, an Oregon-based distributor of solutions and products designed to achieve accuracy and consistency in color applications for various industries. The arrangement allows Alder Color Solutions exclusive rights to market Fluid Color’s portfolio of wide-format printers including its RF/ZF Flatbed Series, RH/ZH Hybrid Series and ZR Roll-to-Roll Series in conjunction with its Kaleidoscope brand of inks to the West Coast.

Founded in 1999, Alder Color Solutions has made helping customers achieve accuracy and consistency in color reproduction across multiple applications a priority. Whether it’s commercial printers, textile printers or packaging and label printers, Alder Color Solutions is able to offer turn-key solutions which stem from its strong knowledge of workflow and RIPs. Formally known as the Color Assurance Program, the company can apply technology designed to measure an output device’s ability to produce a specific color accurately. This ability will contribute to selecting the best printer for the customer based on his or her needs.

“With Alder Color Solutions’ knowledge and expertise in color management and color correction, our two companies will collaborate to provide a full suite of print capabilities as opposed to just selling a customer a single piece of equipment,” said Mark Crawford, managing partner for Fluid Color. “And with the Color Assurance Program, printers will receive a value-added benefit beyond hardware when they invest in a wide format printer from Fluid Color.”

Marty Davis, co-president of Alder Color Solutions, predicts a strong interest in Fluid Color’s portfolio of wide format printers in his region. “Fluid Color is unique in that the equipment may be adapted to fit the customer’s growing needs,” said Davis. “The equipment can be upgraded by simply adding additional print heads to expand the color gamut. That’s a big advantage over having to buy another printer.”

Fluid Color’s wide format presses come equipped with two to 10 print heads and offer resolutions ranging from 1200 dpi to 3600 dpi. The roll-to-roll series contains print heads manufactured from Kyocera. The flatbed and hybrid series contain print heads manufactured by either Kyocera or Ricoh.

With the agreement underway, the two companies plan to utilize the resources Alder Color Solutions shares with its parent company, Great Western Ink. Headquartered in Portland, Oregon, with satellite facilities in California, Washington and Nevada, Great Western Ink will provide storage space for Fluid Color’s equipment allowing for expedient delivery to customers on the West Coast. Alder Color Solutions also has access to Great Western Ink’s customer database, an ideal starting point for expanding Fluid Color’s business and brand recognition across the country.
