More Affordable CMYK-Only Print-and-Cut Device Joins the Original VersaSTUDIO BN-20 and Other Small Business-Building Solutions in Roland DGA’s Product Line
Irvine, Calif. – Roland DGA, a leading provider of wide-format inkjet printers and other advanced digital devices, has announced the launch of its new VersaSTUDIO BN-20A desktop printer/cutter. Based on the company’s best-selling VersaSTUDIO BN-20, the new BN-20A offers the most popular features at an even lower price. The BN-20A delivers the same ease of use, print quality and versatility of the original BN-20, but by removing the recirculating specialty color channel for White and Metallic inks, Roland DGA is able to offer this value-packed “business in a box” for just $4,995 (MSRP). With its combined functionality, reliability and affordability, the BN-20A is the perfect device for anyone looking to start a home-based business, or for existing shops that want to expand by adding print-and-cut applications.
The outstanding imaging and integrated contour cutting capabilities of the BN-20A make it ideal for a wide range of applications, including signs, posters, decals, labels, customized apparel, and more. With its ability to produce vibrant graphics and automatically cut around virtually any shape, the BN-20A enables any print provider to stand out from the competition without making a large initial investment. It comes standard with intuitive output software that even beginners can use to easily produce high quality prints from design data such as illustrations and photos. Plus, the BN-20A is compact enough to be placed on a desk and can be used safely within any home, office or retail location without special electrical requirements.
The BN-20A takes full advantage of Roland DG’s GREENGUARD Gold certified Eco-Sol MAX 2 inks in a standard CMYK configuration. These specially formulated inks image beautifully, dry quickly, and provide rugged scratch resistance on a wide range of readily available 20-inch media, including poster paper, thermal transfers, PVC sheets, and PET films. The BN-20A also incorporates state-of-the-art features like the True Rich Color preset for vivid, accurate graphics and outstanding detail. Variable dot control produces droplets of seven different sizes for superior printing accuracy, while Roland Intelligent Pass Control ensures accurate dot placement between passes for excellent photographic reproduction, smooth gradations, and exceptional solid colors.
In addition to producing customer-pleasing prints, the BN-20A offers users the advantages of reliable, precise integrated contour cutting. With its ability to print and cut in a single operation, the BN-20A maximizes convenience and efficiency, making it perfect for applications like wall graphics and apparel decoration. The BN-20A also enables users to print, remove the print for lamination, and then return that laminated output to the printer for precision contour cutting using Roland DG’s patented Quadralign Optical Registration System.
“Our new BN-20A makes VersaSTUDIO desktop printer/cutter performance more affordable than ever,” said Daniel Valade, Roland DGA Manager of Digital Print. “This compact yet powerful device is just the ticket for start-ups and existing operations. Whether you want to start a print business that you can operate from home, or expand your shop’s current print-and-cut product offerings, the BN-20A is the ideal inkjet. It’s an incredibly versatile, easy-to-use device that offers legendary Roland DG quality and reliability at an unbelievable price”
The BN-20A comes bundled with Roland DG’s user-friendly, feature-filled VersaWorks® 6 software. Powered by a Harlequin RIP® dual-core engine, VersaWorks 6 boasts a multitude of useful features, quick RIP speeds, and the ability to handle and correctly process complex PDF, EPS, and PS files with drop shadows and transparencies. A modern, intuitive interface makes VersaWorks 6 easy to navigate – simply drag and drop files from the desktop, or other folder locations, into the print queue for processing. The icon-based RIP experience allows the user to quickly access advanced layout, quality and color management, nesting, and job management tools.
